We want to wish you happy National School Choice Week 2018! From January 21st through January 27th, thousands of events will be taking place across the country that highlight the demand for successful education options for students. People from all over join together at these events in support of students and families having a choice when it comes to their education.

Held every January since 2011, the goal of National School Choice Week (NSCW) according to schoolchoiceweek.com is, “to raise public awareness of all types of education options for children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.”

In order to help reach this goal and raise awareness, we invite all of you to get involved. There are already 1,101 activities, meetings and events scheduled throughout Pennsylvania. To find events in your area click here and search for an event by address or zip code.

Here at PALCS, we want to encourage the entire community to post a photo or video on Facebook with the banner below, explaining why they chose PALCS and what school choice means to you! Make sure to tag @PALCS and use the hashtags #schoolchoice and #PALCSPride. Whether you are a student, parent, or teacher at PALCS, you made a choice to join this extraordinary community and we would love to know why.

Also, don’t forget about the NSCW annual dance-a-long! This year’s official song is “Better When I’m Dancin” by Meghan Trainor. You can learn the official dance here!

For more information on National School Choice Week and how to get involved, please visit schoolchoiceweek.com. Remember, when it comes to your child’s education, you do have a CHOICE. All students are different — what worked for one child may not work for another, so be sure to explore all of your options. Choose what works best for your individual child and your family!
