Brief Biography: Even though Ms. Swiatek’s teaching career started in 2005, the desire to teach has been a present factor in her life for even longer. Having known since middle school that she wanted to be an educator has helped her map out her direction in life, which has led to many interesting experiences. Over the course of her career, Ms. Swiatek has taught in pre-school, elementary school, middle school, and high school, at both private and public schools throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Her longest tenure has been with the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens where she started out as an ELA teacher in middle school, was offered a position at the same school as Assistant Principal after five years, and a year later, became Principal of a different school within the same district. Life and family had a different plan for Ms. Swiatek, which resulted with a move to Pennsylvania. This opened up new doors for her as she was looking to find a job that would provide rewarding challenges and opportunities to positively impact the lives of the people around her. Soon after moving, she was called in by PALCS to come in for an interview and was offered the position of Federal Programs Coordinator. As the program grew, so did her responsibilities. As of July 2019, she has been the Supervisor of Federal Programs and oversees all Title I, II, III, and IV programs and program funding. In addition to her love of teaching, Ms. Swiatek loves to travel, cook, read, hike, volunteer, dance, and write. She also loves learning about other cultures and can speak three languages (English, Polish, and Spanish) quite well.
