Brief Biography: Ms. Boccasini knew she wanted to become a teacher from a young age. Her mom was a teacher and she has fond memories of working on bulletin boards and helping her mom set up her classroom at the beginning of each school year. She cannot remember a time when she did not want to become a teacher. Prior to coming to PALCS, she taught 1st and 2nd grade at AIM-Academy in Manayunk, a private school for children with language based learning differences. Before AIM, Ms. Boccasini taught kindergarten and 1st grade in the School District of Philadelphia.
Ms. Boccasini has a passion for teaching reading. She loves watching students develop the skills to become fluent readers. She came to PALCS in December of 2012 to teach Title 1 Reading. She has transitioned into teaching Middle School, and is excited to teach Middle School Reading.
Ms. Boccasini enjoys working at PALCS because she has the opportunity to reach students from all across the state. She finds it exciting to work with technology and learn new things every day. Ms. Boccasini is perusing her Education Master’s from American College of Education, an online graduate school. She finds it exciting to be a student in an online world, as well as a teacher.
