Brief Biography: Lori has been teaching MS ELA at PALCS since 2022. She was inspired to become a teacher by two important figures in her life: her mother who taught preschool and later, her 7th grade ELA teacher. Lori started her teaching career in 2002 in William Penn School District where she realized how much she enjoyed connecting with middle school students and sharing her love of reading and writing stories with them. After a few years, she took a hiatus to have and raise her own children which led her to find another passion – being a Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Lactation Counselor for 11 years. In 2020, she made a return to classroom teaching via substituting in a variety of positions and age levels while earning additional teaching certifications. She loves PALCS and so happy she got to return to her first loves – teaching ELA and middle schoolers! Lori lives in right outside of Philadelphia in Montgomery County with her husband, two teenage sons, and pup Stellaluna. She loves reading, yoga, and the outdoors.
