Brief Biography: Prior to coming to PALCS, Ms. Smith taught Kindergarten for two years and middle school language arts for one year. “I started at PALCS as a Title I Reading Teacher and helped to start our Title I program,” says Ms. Smith. “I stayed in this position for six years before becoming a 2nd grade teacher for one year. After completing my Master’s Degree, I wanted to return to the area of reading and became the Reading Specialist. I enjoy each day that I can share the world of reading with students and help them become excited to learn more.” Ms. Smith lives in West Chester with her son and their cat. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, listening to music, being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She adds, “my favorite food is pizza and my favorite place to be is at the beach. It’s a great place to read a book!”
