Brief Biography: Ms. Swink has enjoyed continued learning and diversity in her Nursing Career since 1981. She worked at Hershey Medical Center for 19 years in Oncology, Hematology/HIV Research, and Kidney Transplant. In 2000 her family moved to Downingtown. Then she worked at Bryn Mawr Rehab while earning the School Nurse Certification. She has worked at all grade levels in public schools meeting medical needs, so children can be healthy, ready to learn, and reach their potential every day. She earned my Masters in Education with a focus on Wellness and Public Health.
“I came to PALCS because I was inspired by a new professional challenge to meet medical needs of students in the Cyber setting and Fine and Performing Arts program,” says Ms. Swink. “I really enjoy teaching students, families and educators how to prevent and treat chronic and acute illness so they can be ready to learn. I realize the importance of physical, social and emotional health. Finding balance is very important.”
Ms Swink enjoys crocheting, other needlework, scrap booking, walking, gardening, and reading. “I am thrilled students are excited for me to teach them crocheting as a relaxation and mindful activity,” she adds.
