Education: Bachelor of Arts in Russian and International Studies, University of Richmond
Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with Elementary Guidance Certification, Immaculata University
Brief Biography: Mrs. McGinty chose to work in education because she wanted to inspire a love of learning in others. “I was drawn to the field of school counseling,” she explains, “because it enables me to help address barriers that might be impeding a student’s learning.” She also has an interest in grief counseling and runs a bereavement support group at her church.
Before coming to PALCS, Mrs. McGinty worked as an admissions counselor at Immaculata University. What she likes best about PALCS is the counseling staff she works with. “I appreciate the opportunity I have to collaborate with creative, dedicated professionals every day,” she says. “At a traditional brick-and-mortar school, there are one or two counselors for the building. We have a team of school counselors and I really like being able to collaborate with coworkers in a team atmosphere.”
