Brief Biography: “In my eyes, a Special Education Teacher is given the opportunity to help students who are struggling to learn, an opportunity to succeed with the necessary instruction and materials to prosper and not fall through the cracks,” says Mrs. Williams. “By engaging the WHOLE child; heart, hands and head, you are then able to better equip them for the challenges that may lie ahead.”
From very early on, Mrs. Williams knew that she wanted to be a teacher and help students. “While in high school, I participated in a pre-career program where I went into a Learning Support Classroom every afternoon to assist the students with their daily assignments. Throughout my college career, I participated in a student teaching program where I went to four different classrooms, with four different teachers and four different teaching styles. I graduated in May 2011, Cum Laude, as a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an educational honor society, with a Bachelors of Science in Education and a dual certification in Special and Elementary Education.”
After joining the PALCS team for the 2011-2012 school year, Mrs. Williams has taught in numerous grades ranging from elementary, middle and high school settings. She have been in my current placement as an Elementary Special Education teacher since the 2012-2013 school year, “and absolutely LOVE what I do each and every day!”
