Brief Biography: Mr. Currie fell in love with poetry during his time as a student at Cardinal O’Hara High School. A teacher, John Brown, inspired him to read everything from Walt Whitman, to a variety of Japanese Haiku writers. Visits to the Dodge Poetry Festival in New Jersey further inspired him to read a variety of works, including classical literature. This blossomed into a love for English in general, and a desire to instill that same enthusiasm in the generations to come. Before PALCS, Mr. Currie worked as a substitute teacher at Strath Haven Middle School in Wallingford-Swarthmore. At PALCS, he looks forward to working with students to help them discover unique authors and compositions that may serve to inspire them. In addition, he hopes to work one-on-one with students to help them develop future ready writing skills.
