Brief Biography: Prior to joining the leadership team at PALCS, Dr. Hoover worked for six years at Millersville University as a Supervisor of Student Teaching and Adjunct Professor in the Education Department. Within the Education Department, she instructed various undergraduate and graduate education courses. Additionally, she has been a teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels, a K-6 Science Consultant, and an evaluator of Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science applicants with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Dr. Hoover’s teaching career officially began while she was attending college. “I was a dance instructor at a studio in Indiana, Pennsylvania. I taught classes in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. This teaching experience was the root of my educational journey. Upon graduation, and moving to Ohio, I continued to instruct dance classes and work with students at the preschool level as a teacher and director at Children’s World Learning Center,” explains Dr. Hoover.
“My vision for the elementary division is to develop a community of learners to include the PALCS faculty, students, parents, and myself. I truly believe that children thrive in an environment of support and encouragement. It is our responsibility to provide an educational avenue to meet the needs of all of our learners and their families. At PALCS, we function as a united team. I am honored to be a member of this team and our quest for the growth of the whole child.”
