PALCS is excited to announce the launch of the Professional Studies Program (PSP) for the 2018-2019 school year!
Formerly known as the School of Professional Studies, PSP will still be a custom career-related program for high school students in grades 9-12 that can package electives like a college major, but now the program includes expanded options and certification opportunities. Additionally, special emphasis will also be placed on the high school graduation portfolio courses to enhance practical skills, such as seeking volunteer and job shadowing opportunities and creating and maintaining an online portfolio or resume.
PSP students can explore 13 tracks within three major career clusters: Information Technology, Hospitality and Tourism, and Business Management and Administration.
PSP will use career training elective courses in partnership with Fuel Education to prepare students to complete optional, nationally recognized certifications, such as the NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) Certification. Upon successful completion of the exam, students can earn an industry-recognized certification and will be equipped with knowledge and skills for post-secondary success.
We are so excited to add depth and recognition with the expansion of PSP. If you are in grades 9-12 for the 2018-2019 school year and are interested, check out more information on the Professional Studies Program page or fill out the PSP application here.
PALCS is proud to offer a wide range of activity groups and programs to enhance our students experience, along with our strong curriculum offerings.
