Brief Biography: After taking a few courses in special education, Mrs. Murphy quickly realized that it was her true passion. “I always knew I wanted to help others in need,” she says, “but it took some time to figure out exactly what that would look like in regards to my professional life.” She explains, “After I started teaching, I knew I had found my true calling in life and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else”.

Mrs. Murphy was one of the first employees hired at PALCS when the school opened in 2004. Before coming to PALCS, she taught special education at Alliance for Progress Charter School in North Philadelphia. Mrs. Murphy and her team work hard to maintain a very detailed special education program that meets the individual needs of any type of student who enrolls at PALCS.
