Brief Biography: Mr. Huebner’s inspiration to work in education came from two of his own teachers who taught him more than just the designated coursework. “In fifth grade, Mr. Miskanin,” he explains, “not only helped me understand the curriculum, but was a mentor and took me under his wing during one of the toughest times in my life. Mrs. Ainsley, my AP Government teacher during my senior year, challenged my worldview and encouraged me to think for myself.” Their examples made him want to become someone who could mentor and challenge students as well.
Before coming to PALCS, Mr. Huebner taught at MaST Community Charter School and worked in the Media Services department of Philadelphia Biblical University. Here at PA Leadership, he loves how he can impact the lives of students all across the state and as in his own community. “I have the freedom to create my course to match my own teaching style, as well as recreate my course as I learn my students’ various learning styles,” he says. He is proud that, when his students click on the American Nation course page, “they don’t get an online textbook; they get Mr. Huebner.”
