Scanning your Computer with Spybot-S&D

Spybot Search and Destroy can detect and remove a multitude of adware and parasite components that slow down your computer. It is important to keep this software-up-to-date on your computer! To make sure your computer is properly protected, you should update the program at least once a week.

Step One: Go to Start > All Programs > Spybot Search & Destroy and click on the program with the same name, Spybot Search and Destroy.

Step Two: Click "Check for Problems." This will start a scan of your system that should take between 15 and 45 minutes.
Note: The progress bar will display along the bottom of the window to show the progress of the scan.

Step Three: Take a quick look at all the information that Spybot-S&D detected in the problem window. The red entries represent spyware and similar threats. If there are any green entries they simply indicate usage tracks. They don’t have to be removed, but we recommend doing so. The red entries represent the real threats and should be removed.

Step Four: Spyboy will attempt to fix the problems. If any problems are not fixed, please call the Help Desk at 1-877-PALCS-TLC.
