If you cannot access any websites and receive a popup titled Computer Support, Inc. when trying to access the Internet, that is our Internet Filterpak.
Logging into the Filterpak
Username: Student
Password: Login
Check Save Password, then Login.
By law, we are required to include a filter on our school computers that will block websites and services which can contain ANY inappropriate material or security risks, like spam, spyware, or questionable advertisements. This means we have to block many popular websites: web-based e-mail, blogs, YouTube, Google image searches, gaming sites, music downloading sites, etc.
Note: You can use POP3-based e-mail accounts using Outlook Express on the school computers.
When a website is blocked, the filterpak popup looks different - it specifically says "The Internet resource you are trying to access has been blocked." This can appear for an entire website or simply an image on a website. Example: MySpace.com is a blocked website. Moodle is NOT blocked, but sometimes images on Moodle can be blocked -- like if the image is hosted at Photobucket (a blocked website.)
Viewing the Reason for a Blocked Website
1. Click on Details for an explanation and to see the URL for the blocked website
2. Click OK to close the window.
The filter cannot be overridden. If you try to disable the filter, it will disable all Internet access and require repairs - please do not attempt to override or disable the filter. Our filter is admittedly not perfect and should not substitute for Home Facilitator monitoring, but if you have a site you think should be unblocked, or a site that should be blocked and is missed by the filter, please contact Mr. Don Reiher at 610-701-3333 x1110.
Sometimes our Filterpak will automatically reset itself. This can occur after any number of occurances: if your computer does not shut down properly; if you try to disable the filter; after we update our list of filtered websites. If this occurs, simply enter username student and password login again, click Save Password, and click Login to access the Internet again. If you have ongoing issues with the filter, you may need to repair it.
