Our Leadership Center’s China Mandarin Program invites you to experience the real China and learn about the Chinese people, language, and history through a full-immersion experience like no other.
Our China Mandarin Program is located in the city of Shijiazhuang, one of China’s leading centers for science and technology, located two hours south of China’s capital, Beijing. Shijiazhuang was chosen as our home base because of:
The quality of its language training facilities;
Its' technological and scientific leadership in the global economy;
Its location OFF the main tourist circuits where few foreigners and Americans travel, yet its population of 8.6 million people exceeds New York City by half a million people.
Our China Mandarin Program invites both students and parents to come to this global educational experience. On this extended thirty-day field trip, you will:
Travel non-stop with a team of teachers and students from New York’s JFK airport to Beijing, China’s capital, and wake up on the other side of the world.
Experience the sheer volume of China’s population in city streets, rail stations, and high-rises, and see the stark contrast to China’s vast open spaces and rural villages with thousands of workers using only hand tools and limited machinery to farm.
Live and communicate with real Chinese host families, and experience everyday Chinese family life and customs, and eat / cook real Chinese food.
Learn Mandarin Chinese language fundamentals for four hours a day (70 hours total) from highly trained and experienced instructors and receive high-school credit.
Learn about China’s Middle Kingdom culture and history, and study its calligraphy.
Learn about the power of traditional Chinese medicine and its healing arts from certified doctors of Oriental Medicine.
Conduct job shadowing experiences and visit some of China's factories and high-tech companies, including one of China's leading bio-tech companies in Shijiazhuang.
Tour the Chinese capital of Beijing in-depth, and visit some of the most famous sites in China, including the Ba Da Ling section of the Great Wall, and the Ming Tombs.
Make scores of new friends and Chinese contacts, and experience being a “rock star” in Chinese city plazas where students will gather around you just to learn and practice their English.
