How it Works

The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is a public cyber charter school.  This means that all Pennsylvanian children in kindergarten - 12th grade are eligible to enroll in PALCS, tuition-free, and "attend" school on the Internet.

PALCS students receive a complete desktop computer system, including a printer/scanner/copier and microphone headset.  Families provide their own Internet access, which we reimburse throughout the school year.

A student will log in to our school website during the school year to access his or her courses.  Each student receives an Individual Program of Instruction. For a complete listing of courses your student would take, visit our curriculum page.

Courses are taught by over one hundred highly qualified teachers, who personally select curriculum used in the course.  Students receive both textbooks and online materials.  Students interact daily with their teachers, who create lessons and provide feedback and support for all schoolwork.

PALCS offers several special programs for some students enrolled in the school.  Our programs create young leaders, instruct in performing and fine arts, and work with gifted and special needs students.  You can learn more about these programs by using the lighter blue links across the top of this page.
