PALCS is a statewide, public (tuition-free) K-12 cyber-charter school with over 2,000 students. Instructional faculty and support staff promote and preserve a progressive approach to academics that nurtures students and families across the state of Pennsylvania with a dynamic cyber-learning experience. Job Applicant Clearances
Current clearances (within one year of start date) are required either to be submitted before or by the first day of employment. Learn how to apply for clearances here. The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires all public-school employees to complete and submit the following clearances:
Clearances must be renewed every 3 years.

Due to recent changes in the Child Protective Services Law, PA Leadership Charter School requires volunteers who have direct contact with students to obtain the following clearances:
- FBI Clearance (Act 114)
- Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33)
- Arrest Conviction Report (Act 24)
The cost for clearances is the responsibility of the volunteer. Please submit clearance certifications to Human Resources for electronic verification. If you obtain your Child Abuse Clearance (Act 33) through the mail, please bring the original mailed certificate to HR.
Please allow enough time for the clearances to be verified prior to the beginning of your volunteer work. Clearances must be dated within one year of your start date and renewed every 3 years.
