The China program consists of a month living in China while taking daily language and culture lessons. Each student will stay with a host Chinese family, living as a Chinese teenager. While in China, students are expected to stay current with PALCS courses via the Internet. The PALCS Chinese program is based in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, PR China. Course work consists of two hours a day of Mandarin language studies with an individual tutor, plus an hour each day of Chinese culture, history, customs, art, tai chi, calligraphy, games and cooking. When students return, Chinese lessons continue in an online format for the rest of the semester. Please contact the Leadership Center for information regarding student eligibility, participation and cost of program.
