In a sea of blue gowns, the scene looked like a typical high school graduation at Lancaster Mennonite School on Saturday.

But the students’ educational experience was nontraditional as they attended classes through the Internet with the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School for either some or all of their high school careers. The Class of 2012 understood that its experience wasn’t typical, as class representatives talked of the many things the students shared that weren’t typical — such as different opportunities to turn around or enrich their lives.
